In Montana, we are the innovator in the support of people with severe and profound intellectual disabilities.  This is so because we put a premium on the quality of life each person with us is able to realize, through our special attention to his/her individual needs and desires.   Our mission to integrate each special person into the broader Missoula social environment remains paramount to their happiness.  With federal and state supporting budgets receding from mid-decade levels, and clients’ stipends not able to stretch as far as they used to, MDSC is compelled to focus energies on attracting private sources of support.  In March 2010, we created a development department with that goal in mind.

We have been successful already in three major fundraising events since November 2010.  In the next 5 years, we will launch a capital campaign to raise funds to build a new state-of-the-art eco-sustainable activity center for our clients’ recreation and skills-building.  This will require a lot of community financial support from far and wide.   You can be an essential part of this story, too.  If someone important to you depends on MDSC-- either as a client or an MDSC employee –please, consider supporting us by clicking the Donate button on this page.
